BIIT calls for research article on Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

In connection to the celebration of 12th Rabi’ Al-awwal, the Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Thought (BIIT) is calling research article to promote the teaching of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Main theme of the research article is `Ways and Means of Implementing the Teaching of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for Social Development in Bangladesh.’

Sub-themes of the research article are: basic principles stated in the Quran and its practice by Muhammad (SAW) for social development. How did this work in changing the social condition of the disgraceful society of his time to the best society for mankind. What is the social condition of people in Bangladesh? What needs to be done to reciprocate prophet’s (SAW) teaching in implementing the principles of Qur’an for social development of people of Bangladesh?

The research article writing competition is part of BIIT’s education initiative aimed at celebrating the month of Rabi’ Al-awwal 1445. The language of writing of the research article will be Bengali, Arabic or English. Students of Master’s degree in any subject can participate in this competition.

Every participant will be awarded. They receive a certificate of appreciation for research article writing. Also authors of research articles will get gifts of books on the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW); they have the possibility to enroll in future research projects.         

A team of three intellectuals will be assigned for evaluation of the articles. There are attractive prizes for the writers of ten best articles. The first prize winner will receive 50,000 Taka. Other rewards include: Second Prize 30,000 Taka, Third Prize 25, 000 Taka, Fourth Prize 20,000 Taka, Fifth Prize 15,000 Taka, sixth to tenth (5) Prize: 10,000 Taka each. All 10 prize winners will get a crest and a set of books as gift.

First five (5) winners will present their article in a seminar where participants of the competition and intellectuals will be invited.  Date of holding the seminar on 15th November 2023. First five (5) winner articles will be published in BJIT/IJIT with the recommendations by the seminar.  Date of article publication on 31st December 2023. A pilot project on Social Development will be taken up to implement the recommendation of articles and seminar.
